Swans winning streak continues

Moulamein 74 d Hay 27

THE impressive goaling of Moulamein’s Meg Rooney secured the Swans a huge win over Hay at the weekend.

A 20-goal first quarter by the home side, of which Rooney potted 14 goals herself, set the tone for the match.

Without their newest recruit Madison Wild, the monumental Stevie Bibby proved she can play at either end of the court, in a move that’s bound to keep opposition teams guessing.

Hay’s Hannah Stewart continued her good form in the midcourt for the Lions, however it was the power of the Swans that just kept coming as the ladder leaders banked a 47-goal win.

Macorna 40 d Ultima 33

AN undefeated Ultima went into the game on top of the Golden Rivers ladder, but were handed their first defeat by the impressive Tigers.

Tayla Foster was doing all she could to lead her team in the midcourt opposed to Macorna’s April Wishart, with the pair working tirelessly for their teams to win possession.

Ultima had a dream start and led for the entire first half.

However, the Tigers soon began attacking and utilising turnovers when it mattered most, overrunning the Roos in the second half, with Emily Robins having a strong impact on the game.

Murrabit 66 d Wandella 31

THE reigning premiers delivered a crushing defeat to the Bombers, with the Blues dominating from the start to win by 35 goals.

Murrabit’s Grace Gillingham was outstanding in GS and set up the win up for her team by delivering accuracy and goals.

Wandella, who remain without a win this season, continued to apply defensive pressure, however Montana Keating was keen to make sure her new team banked the four points against her junior club.

A 17-to-six-goal third quarter allowed the Blues to get a run on with a big last half.

The Blues sent a strong warning to the rest of the competition that they are keen to go back-to-back in 2023.
