The embattled Saints, who have only had one win so far this season, struggled to convert in the goals against the Tigers.
“We applied great defensive pressure and made them work hard – we just needed to score,” Saints coach Melanie Wait said.

Pies stay hot
LAKE Boga remain unbeaten so far this season after a 13-goal win against Kerang on Saturday.
What started as a competitive match quickly turned south for the Blues, who struggled to match the Magpies’ four-quarter intensity.
“We got lots of ball defensively and were transitioning it well for the most part, however we were not capitalising on it when it reached the attack end,” Blues playing coach Chloe Adams said.
“We had our opportunities and had momentum at different stages of the game, however just didn’t make the most of it.”
While they are still within the top five, the Blues have a couple of tough games ahead after two weeks of byes. Adams is hoping the break will give her team time to reset and work on their execution on the court.
“We know that if we want to be making finals at the end of the season we need to be putting out much better performances than what we have been,” she said.

Swans too strong
SWAN Hill made light work of Koondrook-Barham at the weekend, comfortably beating the struggling side by 58 goals.
The Swans were in control of the match from the start, shooting 20 goals in the first quarter to the Raiders’ three, with the deficit continuing to grow throughout the game.
Swans coach Madeleine Nalder, who returned to the court at the weekend, said she was happy that her team played a consistent four quarters of netball.
“We were able to apply pressure through the midcourt and goal third that allowed us to turn the ball over and convert at the post,” she said.
Wing defender Karli McIntyre was one of the best on court for the match, leading the Swans’ defensive end. At the other end of the court, wing attack Casey Frame was also in good form, providing ample opportunities for the goalers.
