BALRANALD annihilated Koondrook-Barham at the weekend by 89 goals – the biggest win so far this season.
The reigning premiers took to their home court firing against the wooden-spooners, who managed to only score two goals in the first quarter compared to the Roos’ 22.
Roos goal shooter Ella Mirtschin shot 74 of their total, with goal attack Jess Parry making up the difference with 35 goals.
The percentage-boosting win was exactly what the Roos needed coming into the last few weeks of the home-and-away season.
Balranald will face one of their biggest tests of the season when they travel to Lake Boga to take on the undefeated Magpies.
Meanwhile, the River Raiders are set to have another tough game ahead of them in round 16, when they take on Woorinen at home.

Mallee Eagles keep in touch
THE Mallee Eagles narrowly kept themselves in the top five with a 17-goal win over Tooleybuc-Manangatang.
The Saints did not make it easy for the Eagles, though, trailing by only two goals at the first break. However, in a lapse at the start of the second quarter the Saints’ deficit grow to nine goals by half time, followed by a poor last quarter performance to cement the Eagles’ comfortable win.
But despite the loss Saints coach Melanie Wait still found some positives in how her team performed.
“Our goalies were consistent and there was great defensive pressure applied across the court,” she said.
While the win means the Eagles stay in fifth position for another week, they still remain there only by percentage, and with a bye coming up will need to make sure they are still at the top of their game when they play Nyah-Nyah West United in round 17.

Boga stay unbeaten
HAVING a week off did nothing to affect Lake Boga’s performance against Tyntynder on Saturday. The Magpies remained undefeated for the season with a solid 18-goal win.
The Magpies got an early jump on the Dogs, with shooter Sarah Hepburn putting five goals through the ring in quick succession to open the match.
The Dogs managed to redeem themselves somewhat in the second quarter, trailing by only five goals heading into the last half of the game. But the clinical style of netball that the Magpies have produced all year proved too much for the Dogs to overcome in the end.
Nicola Miliano and Demi Wall were among the Bulldogs’ best, applying a lot of pressure in their defence end to try and keep the Magpies at bay.
Lake Boga are have an interesting match ahead of them when they host Balranald this weekend, while Tyntynder have a bye before going up against Swan Hill in round 17.

Swans too strong
SWAN HILL had a convincing 37-goal win over Nyah-Nyah West United on Saturday.
The Swans were in control of the game from the beginning, with the Demons unable to recover from a slow first-quarter performance.
“It was a very tough game against a very high-quality side,” Demons coach Laura Anderson said.
“There were a lot of good passages of play, as well as lots of points to work on.”
Midcourter Kelsey McCoy was again one of the best for the Swans, getting lots of touches as well as remaining composed when bringing the ball down the court in attack. Shooter Zoe Morris also had a standout performance.
The win moved the Swans into second position just ahead of Woorinen. In round 16 they host the Cohuna Kangas in what should be a straightforward win for the Swans. The Demons should have a competitive match against the Saints.
