The final run home

1st: Lake Boga

Record – 14 wins, 1 losses

Percentage – 136.77

Remaining match –Koondrook-Barham (H)

While Lake Boga’s undefeated reign came to an end last round at the hands of Woorinen, it has not impacted their final standing, with the Magpies still set to claim the title of minor premiers. Taking on the wooden-spooners Koondrook-Barham this round, it will be a cruisy end to the home-and-away season.

Predicted finish: 1st

2nd: Swan Hill

Record – 13 wins, 2 losses

Percentage – 167.47

Remaining match – Balranald (H)

The Swans’ consistent hard work throughout the season has paid off as their finals position is well and truly secured. It is hard to know which way the game against Balranald will go, but a loss now, while it may bruise their ego, will do little to their final standing.

Predicted finish: 2nd

3rd: Woorinen

Record – 13 wins, 2 losses

Percentage – 157.19

Remaining match –Kerang (A)

There’s no question that the Tigers will be taking to the court to play finals in two weeks, and after beating the previously undefeated ladder leaders in Lake Boga last round, they should be full of confidence and energy. A win or a loss against Kerang tomorrow is unlikely to change their final ladder position.

Predicted finish: 3rd

4th: Balranald

Record – 10 wins, 5 losses

Percentage – 149.26

Remaining match – Swan Hill (A)

After a solid win over Kerang in round 17, reigning premiers Balranald have cemented their spot in the finals. While a win over Swan Hill in the last round of the home-and-away season would be a great start to their 2023 finals journey, a loss will still keep the Roos in the top five.

Predicted finish: 4th

5th: Mallee Eagles

Record – 9 wins, 6 losses

Percentage – 136.45

Remaining match – Cohuna (H)

The Mallee Eagles have positioned themselves well to just scrap into the finals this season. Even in the unlikely event that they suffer a loss against the Kangas on Saturday, they should still be able to hold on to fifth spot.

Predicted finish: 5th

6th: Kerang

Record – 8 wins, 7 losses

Percentage – 120.31

Remaining match – Woorinen (H)

Kerang’s season is all but over. In order for them to crack the top five in the final week, the Blues need to beat Woorinen convincingly, while also hoping the Mallee Eagles lose by a significant amount to Cohuna. While these results aren’t impossible, it’s highly unlikely.

Predicted finish: 6th
