WOORINEN’S B Grade team capped off a very successful year with a six-goal grand-final win over Koondrook-Barham.
While the Tigers led for most of the match, the River Raiders refused to go down without a fight, clawing their back to within a goal in the last quarter.
However, a quick six-goal run from the Tigers cemented their premiership.
Tigers coach Toni Bolton said she was really pleased her team ran out the full four quarters.
“We worked really hard to bring that home, so I’m just proud of all the girls and our effort on the court,” she said.
Best on court was awarded to Tigers defender Skye Kelly.
“Skye coming back into the team (during the season) really strengthened our defence end,” Bolton said.
“She’s very smart, she’s a great talker, and it just lifted everyone down there.”
