A DETERMINED Tyntynder atoned for their upset loss in this year’s second semi-final, defeating Lake Boga by five goals in Saturday’s 15 & Under Central Murray grand final.
After Lake Boga defeated the minor premiers a fortnight ago, the Bulldogs returned serve on Saturday, defeating the Magpies 46-41, with goal defence Chloe Nalder declared the best on court for Tyntynder.
It was an impressive turnaround from Tyntynder, who defeated rivals Swan Hill in last Saturday’s preliminary final to reach the decider, with the Bulldogs putting Lake Boga to the sword by scoring 10 of the first 12 goals of the match.
Despite their slow start, the Magpies fought their way back into the contest, levelling the scores three times throughout the final quarter.
They were unable to deliver the knockout blow, however, as Tyntynder responded to the challenge on each occasion to retake the lead, with two three-goal stretches within the last 10 minutes handing the Bulldogs a well-deserved premiership which would be the club’s only title on grand final day.
