LAKE Boga’s youngest netballers joined their most senior counterparts in becoming premiership players for the Magpies on Saturday by defeating Tooleybuc-Manangatang by four goals in the Central Murray’s 13 & Under grand final.
The win was set up by a 12-goal-to-four second quarter, with the Magpies turning a one-goal quarter-time deficit into a seven-goal half-time lead.
The Saints fought back in the third quarter, outscoring Lake Boga 7-4, before an arm wrestle ensured for the final 15 minutes as neither team gave an inch defensively.
In the end, it was Lake Boga that prevailed 27-23, with Tooleybuc-Manangatang unable to replicate the home-and-away season form that saw them finish on top of the ladder.
Lake Boga goal defence Zarli Anderson won the best-on-court medal.
