Cohuna strong across four quarters

A CONSISTENT four quarter performance has seen Cohuna climb into the top five for the first time this season, with the Kangas securing a comfortable 16-goal win over Nyah-Nyah West United on the weekend.

The Kangas led at every change on their way to recording a 60-44 victory, with Cohuna coach Georgia Anderson full of praise for her team’s midcourt.

“Taylor Hird was exceptional, she is one of the best wing attacks I have seen and worked with, and her ability to win contests and find the ring in every play is outstanding,” Anderson said.

“She was best on, and Tanner Edwards was next best in the centre, she was everywhere defensively and looked comfortable and confident feeding our goalers.

“I felt like our girls found their rhythm within their combinations and defensively Carly (Geary) and Marli (Easton) did great in the defence ring causing many turnovers.”

Gretchen Skinner and Matika Mitchell were the better players for the Demons, with the result seeing NNW United sit on the bottom of the Central Murray ladder without a win from their first four matches.
