KOONDROOK-BARHAM v TYNTYNDER
A 13-goal to three second quarter has helped Koondrook-Barham record their eighth win of the season on the weekend, with the Raiders now on the cusp of locking away a finals berth following their 23-goal win over Tyntynder.
After a hard-fought opening term, Koondrook-Barham were able to dominate proceedings thereafter, with the Bulldogs managing just nine goals over the next half an hour of play, with the Raiders piling on 29 goals over the same period.
The 50-27 win sees the Raiders move three games clear of sixth placed Tooleybuc-Manangatang in the fight for a finals berth, with Koondrook-Barham co-coach Emma Peacock pleased with her team’s effort after the match.
“This was probably the first game where we played out four quarters consistently,” Peacock said.
“We really got around each other with everything and we played very well as a team.”
It was a different story for Tyntynder however, with the Bulldogs experimenting with a different look and structure as they head towards the end of the season according to injured co-coach Bridget Dedini.
“It was a tough game, we started really well but unfortunately fell away,” Dedini said.
“We were running with a few new combinations and although the score line didn’t reflect it, we feel like towards the end of the game some small combinations started to click.
“We had small wins all over but obviously have some things to work on for the remainder of the season.”
Remy Doyle and Ella Hall were the better players for Koondrook-Barham, while Issy Corrie, Elvie Kelly-Britten and Taylah Woodward were best for the Bulldogs.

SWAN Hill have returned to both the winners list and the top five after defeating Nyah-Nyah West United by 12 goals on Saturday.
The 59-47 win was set up following a strong opening quarter from the Swans, who outscored the Demons 18-goals to nine in the first 15 minutes.
Although NNW United fought back after the first break, the damage was already done, with Swan Hill coach Casey Frame happy with her team’s start.
“We started strong and had a great first quarter,” Frame said.
“Our intensity and defensive pressure was good and our talk was better all over the court.
“We had lapses in each quarter which is something we want to improve on however.”
Kelly Bonney and Jaya Jenkins-Jaiswal were named as better players for the Swans, while Ava Seymour finished as the games leading goal scorer with 33 for the Swans, while Taylen Blachford (26 goals) led the way for the Demons.
