WITH the further easing of coronavirus restrictions, we have seen the return of more council services.
On Wednesday this week, council’s Splatt Street offices re-opened to the public, with measures in place to help stop the potential spread of coronavirus.
These measures include a hand sanitiser station, protective screens at customer service points, floor indicators to maintain social distancing, signage and a limit of 12 people in the reception foyer at a time. The office site will also be cleaned regularly.
Remember, if you are unwell, please do not visit the offices. Instead you can contact council over the phone or email, or through council’s website.
Swan Hill Region Information Centre open
THE Swan Hill Region Information Centre re-opened its doors this week – which is great news with the upcoming long weekend.
Our visitor services team has already received a number of enquiries from people who are travelling and many more intending to stay in the region over the long weekend.
Supporting our local tourism industry and visitors to our region remains important as we navigate this new landscape around holidaying.
Art gallery re-opens
THE Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery also opened its doors today in time for the long weekend.
With coronavirus measures in place at the gallery, visitors will notice some changes.
There will be a limit to the number of visitors to different spaces within the gallery, while social distancing will also be observed.
The gallery is also requesting visitors register their name and contact details to support contact tracing.
Click and collect at the library
ON Monday, the Swan Hill Regional Library opened for click and collect services.
This service is already proving to be popular with library customers.
Customers can request library materials through this service either online or over the phone.
When items are ready, an appointment will be made to collect your items from the library foyer.
A quick reminder that the library is currently closed.
Apart from appointment times for click and collect services, the library doors are shut.
Please do not show up at the library in person. Instead please contact the library by telephone on 5036 2480.
Pioneer Settlement set to open on June 25
SOME more great news this week with the Pioneer Settlement set to re-open its doors on Thursday, June 25 – in time for the school holidays.
Visitors can expect some changes at the site. This includes reduced capacity for Heartbeat of the Murray session times (multiple shows will run during the school holidays, depending on demand) and on the PS Pyap (which will cruise daily).
Buildings will have limits on the number of people allowed to enter, while protective screens have been installed in the reception area, horse carriage and vintage cars.
Hand sanitiser stations will also be located at points throughout the site.
I’d like to thank our community for their support during the Pioneer Settlement’s closure.
I’m sure we’re all looking forward to the site’s re-opening on June 25.
