Information centre’s efforts recognised
CONGRATULATIONS to the Swan Hill Region Visitor Information Centre, which was awarded second place in the Australia-wide Why Leave Town promotion, for their Swan Hill gift card sales.
The Visitor Information Centre loaded $35,790 onto local Swan Hill gift cards during 2020 – an outstanding achievement.
It’s also a huge credit to the Swan Hill community for getting behind the initiative.
The Swan Hill gift card promotion is a unique and convenient gift that was developed by Why Leave Town in conjunction with Swan Hill Incorporated.
The main benefit of the initiative was to keep money within local communities.
Every time a Swan Hill gift card is purchased, the money is staying locally, helping to generate revenue throughout our entire region.
If you have received a Swan Hill gift card, make sure you get out there and spend your Swan Hill dollars.
Currently, there is $86,000 that has yet to be redeemed in the region from the gift cards.
Now we’re out of the “circuit breaker” lockdown and hopefully getting back to normal again, we want to kick start local spending in our region.
That’s why it’s important that people who have received a Swan Hill gift card get out there and spend it.
So if you have a Swan Hill Gift Card – why not spoil yourself and support a local business at the same time?

Local businesses can also register to join the Why Leave Town Gift Card Program and encourage more people to shop local at www.whyleavetown.com/register.

Community satisfaction survey underway
A COMMUNITY satisfaction survey is currently being conducted for residents across the Swan Hill Rural City municipality.
This means you may receive a call from independent market research agency, National Field Services.
The survey got underway last Thursday, and will continue for a period of up to three weeks.
Randomly selected households may receive a phone call on either their landline or mobile phone.
The survey is designed to assess the performance of council across a range of measures to identify ways to provide improvement or more effective service delivery to residents.
Individual responses are confidential and only the overall results are shared with council.
If you get a phone call from National Field Services asking you to take the survey, please take the time to do so.
The information you provide will help council in directing its strategic planning and make sure its meeting the expectations of our community.
Outdoor dining competition
COUNCIL wants you to show them your favourite outdoor dining experiences from within the region – and have the chance to win a $100 voucher.
All you have to do is post a photo on Facebook or Instagram with the tag @visitswanhill and @swanhillruralcitycouncil and the hashtag #outdoordininginthemallee and if you are in a dining pod #picinapod.
The photo must be either at a local cafe, restaurant, club, general store/corner store or showcasing takeaway from one of these venues.
Show us your outdoor location, food and drinks. If you meet the above competition requirements, you will go into the draw to win a voucher from your local cafe, restaurant, club, general store of your choice up to the value of $100.
There will be five winners chosen.
The competition will be drawn on March 12, 2021 at 10am.
The outdoor dining competition is a great excuse to get the friends or family together, and support a local business.
