Hefty Donation.

Our Moulamein 200 Club has just given our Edward River Gardens residential aged care facility a donation of over $11,000 to buy some ultra-modern beds for their residents.

This will make life much better for the residents as well as their careers.

Well done to the members of our Moulamein 200 Club – these beds will be much appreciated and we are all getting closer to going in there and needing the beds.

Our Moulamein 200 Club is a very rare organisation, in that all of the members give $200 a year and expect nothing back.

The committee decides which worthy causes in our district to distribute the funds to.

Before COVID, we may have got together once or twice a year for a dinner meeting, but none of the raised funds were used to finance these dinner meetings.

It was just an excuse to get together for a good night, usually with a guest speaker to entertain us.

No COVID In Balranald.

With all the rumours going around of how close our mate COVID is getting to us, we were all very nervous when we heard it was in Balranald.

As it turns out, it was a Balranald-registered gentleman, but he was in Wilcannia when he tested positive.

So far, so good in our district.

COVID Fines.

A couple of mates found out the hard way of another COVID rule.

They found out that if you are going home from work, in the work truck with someone that is not from the same household, you must wear a mask.

If you are in any vehicle with someone that is not of the same household, you must wear a mask, as they found out – $500 each is a quick way to learn.

If you buy your beer on special fellas, it is only ten boxes of beer each you have lost.

Remember to mask up, even out here in the bush.

Still In Lockdown.

We are into our second week of our seven-day lockdown. Only another 14 weeks to go.

You Can Still Take Photos During Lockdown.

Our Gallery Girls are holding their amateur photo competition again this year with $700 up for grabs.

The categories are:

1. Open – “In a Paddock”.

2. Black & White – “Patterns in Nature”.

3. Children’s under 14 years – “Wheels”.

This should give everyone something to work on.

Entries close on Thursday September 30.

Presentations will be at 6pm Friday October 1, COVID permitting.

The exhibition will on show until Friday October 29 – I know you think it is a long way away, but, you need to get onto it now.

I am always going to do it, but just like a school project back in my day… bugger, I will get it in next time.

Get into it early – I am going to try and get one this year, I got in early and got some good ones, but bugger… the categories do not match my photos.

Maybe next year.
