The community participated through:

· Facilitated online and face-to-face workshops

· Online survey

Our Draft Community Vision is currently this: Built on strong foundations that embrace our rich history and natural environment, our region will be a place of progression and possibility, we are a community that is happy, healthy and harmonious – we are empowered, we are respectful and we are proud.

Now that the works have concluded and the area is open to public, local residents can now have a peace of mind knowing that they are protected from river floods for the many years to come.Hard Waste collection and free Green WasteDon’t forget that we are offering domestic hard waste collections and free green waste disposal during this month.

Hard waste collections will take place in the following locations:

· Lake Boga / Tresco – Monday October 18

· Ultima / Woorinen South – Tuesday October 19

· Beverford – Wednesday October 20

Every second year hard waste collections alternate between towns that are only serviced by transfer stations.

Our free green waste disposal at the Swan Hill and Robinvale landfills on the weekend of Saturday October 23 and Sunday October 24.

Free green waste disposal is an excellent motivator to get your property fire-ready for the upcoming fire season.

More information on preparing your property can be found at www.cfa.vic.gov.au/plan-prepare/how-to-prepare-your-property

Green thumbs are reminded that Green Waste bins are available to residents of Swan Hill township for year round collection for a cost of $95 per year and can be organised by calling Council.

For more information, contact Council’s Waste Management Unit on 5036 2401.
