More water
OUR mates on the NSW Murray have now got 110% of their allocation, they would be as happy as a dog with two sticks.
I did not know that they could even get that much.
I think it had something to do with the carryover water – those that carried water over just lost an average of 42%.
A 10% bonus seems only fitting.
Us on the Murrumbidgee gained 11% to take us to 63% of what we own.
Of course, my crow eating mates are still stuck on the 100% that they always get.
They will be cheesed off now to see our NSW Murray on 110% of what they own.
Enjoy it while you can fellers, this is too good to be true.
Moulamein cup called off
UNFORTUNATELY, our Moulamein Race Club has had to pull the pin on this year’s Moulamein Cup.
Things are still a bit up in the air about our friend COVID and our race club does not want to bring this dreaded disease to our little town.
By then, most people with a brain will be double jabbed, but it is all new territory so unfortunately.
Our friend COVID has done something that even two World Wars could not do – stopped the Moulamein Races for two years in a row.
Bugger.
But our race club has big plans for development at our very unique racecourse in the very near future.
Our races will be only bigger and better next year.
For those that know our bar at the racecourse, that is one thing that can not be changed or modernised.

But, the dreaded disease has got close.
Very close last weekend, but the test was negative.
We have it in Barham, Deniliquin, Hay, Balranald, Moama and Swan Hill.
We may just leave that new Moulamein Bridge at Swan Hill on the backburner for the foreseeable future.
We are from the bush; we obey most rules so we will get it under control unlike our city counterparts.
Moulamein Preschool enrolments open
FOR those of you with little tackers, it is time to enrol your kids for preschool next year.
Please get in touch with those involved to work out numbers for next year.
No ducks to get the rice
ONE positive about sowing my rice this year is that so far there are bugger all ducks.
This can change very quickly though – the one thing I do not like is the fact that our fire is burning at home and we are sowing rice.
Must have something to do with climate change.
Pennant bowls are still on
AT the time of writing our bowls season starts on November 6.
We are fielding two teams at Moulamein this year, a division 1, and a division 4.
New players are always made most welcome, as there is always someone away.
I know bowls is an extreme sport as more bowlers die than any other sportspeople – come and join us every Saturday, and take the risk to go out on the edge.
Koolamein Cup is October 23
OUR mates the Wakool Wakers are keen to get us over there for the big challenge of the very precious Koolamein Cup – please get your name in to Kerryn on 0407800111 or put your name on the list at our club.
The bus will be leaving at 10.30am and there will be a BBQ lunch available, as well as a lot of fun against our mates from Wakool.
Unfortunately, I will not be there, as my grandkids are turning up and those that know me, know that they come first.
They have already ordered yabbies for their visit, and looks like Pop will be hoping the yabbies are still out and about.

I THINK Dodgy Dan has finally worked out that ‘Sicktoria’ has more COVID cases than NSW, as the police are no longer wasting their time keeping healthy NSW residents from entering Sicktoria and making life hard for border residents.
Please, could everyone do the right thing and get the jab.
I think we will be the most jabbed country in the world very shortly, and that is a credit to all of us who have a brain and have got the double jab.
Well done us, not them.
New date for the Moulamein Gallery photo competition
JUST one more reminder that this event has been put back until November 5.
Unfortunately, due to our friend COVID, there will be no presentation night on November 5.
Our Gallery will be open on November 6 in the morning for coffee, cake and viewing.
The winners will be notified on Friday night.
Not the end to this great competition that our Gallery Girls were hopping for, but this is the best we can do until we finally find a COVID-normal.River levelsTHE Edward is around 4,500 megs at Moulamein, and there is a rise coming.
There are over 10,000 megs coming past Stevens Wier.
Three or four thousand of this goes down the Niemur.
I still have not quite worked out how this works – there is over 14,000 megs at Deniliquin.
They only seem to publish this after it gets above 13,000 megs, and I am still trying to work this one out.
