Around the churches

ANGLICAN

A BUSY weekend is ahead for us. The monthly service was postponed last week due to clergy illness so is on tonight in the Ultima Hall at 7pm. All welcome.

The boot sale is on at both sites on Saturday morning, with the usual sausage sizzle, scones, bargains of all sorts and morning tea to chat over. Set up at 2pm Friday.

We have welcomed a number of visitors and new worshippers to church recently, sharing their travel and church experiences.

It is always a joy to share with other Christians.

GRAIN SHED

PLANS are underway for Christmas at the Grain Shed.

The hope and joy of knowing that Jesus is God with us, Emmanuel!

“And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14

We’d like to share this joy in a practical way with our local community by distributing Christmas hampers in December.

To be a part of this, collect a bag from the Grain Shed hub and attached to it is a shopping list. Once you’ve purchased the items, pop them in the bag and return it to the Grain Shed.

This is the last call for any Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes, they’ll soon be winging their way to children around the world.

Mainly Music is on Monday mornings with a new start time of 10am. It is lovely to see new families joining in the fun and now that the days are a bit warmer, we have been enjoying morning tea and playtime outside in the sunshine.

Grain Shed Youth starts tonight at 7pm, with all high school age people welcome.

Grain Shed Youth Ministry is hosting “Tuning in to Teens” in Term 4. This is aimed at mums, dads and carers to help them maintain close and open relationships with their young people and to understand adolescent development. This group is open to anyone in the community. The session will run on a Friday evening, starting October 21, while youth group is on (7pm-9pm).

To be a part of it; let Liz know by emailing youth@thegrainshed.org.au or call 5032 9449.

Just a reminder for all those who have booked into the spiritual gifts seminar, it is on tomorrow starting at 9.30am.

This Sunday we meet at 10am and guest speaker Naomi Thorne (church development consultant at Churches of Christ, Victoria and Tasmania) will be speaking. Everyone is welcome!

Grainshed Kids is back on site with the team ready to greet you from 9.45am.
