Around the churches

Anglican

OUR church service will be held on Sunday in the church at the Pioneer Settlement at 11am.

Pioneer style clothing is encouraged if you have some. After the service, there is the opportunity to lunch together at the cafe.

On a sad note, Rev Jan Harper passed into God’s presence on Tuesday after battling cancer.

As our Rector a few years ago, Jan became a friend to many and was a caring pastoral leader. We give thanks to God for her ministry and life.

Grain Shed

WE continue to watch, wait, prepare and pray with our community affected by the flood waters.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4 verse 6.

At the Grain Shed, we have started collecting hampers for Christmas. If you’d like to be part of this, you can collect a bag from the church foyer which has a shopping list attached and return it once it’s full. There’s plenty of time as collection will be happening throughout November.

This is a final call for any Christmas shoe boxes out there. Our boxes are being organised for transportation in the next few days.

To all our mainly music families, just a reminder that we are having this Monday off prior to the public holiday on Tuesday so we won’t be meeting on October 31, but we’ll be back with some new songs on November 7, starting at 10am.

On November 5, we are having a time of craft and stitching. We’ll be at the church from 10am-4pm. Morning tea and lunch will be provided so if you’d like to join us, just bring along whatever you’d like to work on or just come along for the wonderful conversation.
