Busy month for churches

EACH year our Diocese holds its synod, like an AGM.

The clergy and lay representatives see and hear about the work and prayer that is happening, from Woodend north and west.

Chaplaincy, charitable trusts, the education centre, ministry with street people, Aboriginal communities, university students, refugees, prisons, churches, and communities: these are some of the ways we serve God as Christians.

At a local level, our men’s shed and op shop are there for the community, based in Nyah West.

The op shop is again opening on Fridays so come along to see what is available in this welcoming place.

Anglicare appreciate all the groceries that are donated to the collection basket at the Swan Hill church.

Families say thank you as it helps them to get through tough times

The men’s coffee gathering at 128 Doors has been appreciated by the variety of men who have come along.

It’s open to all men at 10.30am on Thursdays.


Grain Shed

AS we step into the month of June we are thrilled to embark on a journey that places missions at the heart of our focus.

This month promises to be an inspiring time of reflection, learning and action as we explore the impact of sharing the light of Christ beyond our city.

The call to mission is deeply rooted in scripture.

Jesus’ great commission in Matthew 28:19-20 compels us to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you”.

This mandate is a reminder that our faith is not meant to be contained but shared generously with the world.

This Friday night at the Grain Shed, our Grain Shed Youth meet 7pm-9pm.

This Sunday at 10am we are blessed to have a visiting mission agency, Compassion.

They will share powerful stories of transformation and hope, illustrating how the love of Christ is making a tangible difference in lives around the globe.

These stories will open our eyes to the incredible work being done and inspire us to support these missions through our prayers, financial gifts and personal involvement.

Our Grainshed Kids onsite is in full swing for all children aged 3-12 years.

This week the children will be discovering how God gives them courage to do what’s right.

There is no Mainly Music on Monday due to King’s Birthday holiday.

It will be back on June 17 10am-11.30am.

On Thursday at 10am, our lovely craft ladies will be working hard on their sewing while enjoying a cuppa and a chat.
