Come for boot sale and sausage sizzle

Anglican Church

Yes! It’s the Monthly Boot Sale this weekend, with all the usual offers of bargains, furniture, food and a chance to socialise. Come along Saturday morning and enjoy the sausage sizzle to start the day.

What a joyful service we had to install our new Rector, Rev. Julie Worrall. It was an evening of welcome for Julie and her husband Peter, and a chance for people to begin to know them. During the Ultima and Swan Hill services, Julie shared some of her story and explained to us her cross … Jesus on a surfboard! Nyah District worshipper, it’s your turn on Sunday!

Julie and Peter expressed their thanks to everyone who has helped in some way to prepare for their coming, whether in prayer or in a practical way. They are appreciative and look forward to getting to know each of you.

Grain Shed News

“What do people get for all the toil and anxious striving with which they labor under the sun? All their days their work is grief and pain; even at night their minds do not rest. This too is meaningless,” Ecclesiastes 2:22-23 NIV

Last Sunday, Pastor Shayne continued in the series and spoke of how easy it is for us to miss the moment, the beauty around us due to an overactive mind, and of course, to take time out, that would be selfish, that guilt feeling comes on as there is always something to do.

Jesus came that we would be full of life and Jesus showed us how to have a healthy heart, by slowing down, withdrawing, praying and being still. He consistently and intentionally took himself away from the crowds in silence. There is no such thing as intimacy without intentionality.

“Be still and know that I am God,” Psalm 46:10 NIV

10am this Sunday, come along, invite a friend and join us in worship and hear another message in the series with Pastor Shayne. We would love you to stay around after in fellowship.

Grain Shed Kids, the check-in desk is open from 9.45am for all three years to Grade 6.

Monday 10 – 11.30am is mainly music.

Thursday 10 to 12pm our craft ladies meet with their ongoing projects and enjoy a good chat with a hot drink.

We are once again participating in Operation Christmas Child with Samaritan’s Purse. Shoe boxes and information are available for collection from the church foyer.

This is a great way to bless children around the world with the gifts that have been lovingly packed into the shoeboxes.

More information can be found on www.samaritanspurse.org.au Recycling is encouraged as we can use old shoeboxes (A4 size) and even decorate them.

Please return your filled shoe box by Friday, October 4, 2024 to ensure it is included in the distribution.
