Grain Shed news, September 20

THERE goes another school term and, for Year 12 students, the end of school is in sight.

Keep up the good work, there’s not long to go. Be encouraged to pray for those studying and preparing for the end-of-year exams and, for all families, safe holidays.

Throughout these holidays, all of our in-house activities are on a break.

Pastor Shayne was on the platform last Sunday and shared a message in the new series I Believe in You. Now is your time: “At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. Just as Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: ‘You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.’” Mark 1:9-14 NIV, God loves us like he loves Jesus. He believes in us.

This Sunday at 10am we will hold a special baptism service, at which we will witness the testimony of what God has done in the lives of those being baptised, and shows us that they are followers of Christ and that he is their Lord and Saviour.

The Grain Shed Kids check-in desk opens at 9.45am

With Christmas approaching, we are getting ready for our Hampers of Hope packing. This will take place closer to the end of the year and hampers will be distributed to those in need through the various support services in Swan Hill. Last year there were 800 boxes packed and delivered for Christmas. Sadly, the need has increased, so we now supply these services with hampers on a regular basis.

If you feel you would like to contribute, donations can made to Careworks Community, BSB: 703 810, account 05300526.

There is still time to pick up a shoebox and bless a child around the world with our Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoebox appeal.

Save the date Saturday, October 26, for Harvest of Hope Quilts at the Grain Shed, a fundraiser for Hampers of Hope.
