President’s message

THIS year promises to be fun, fun, fun, at the Whitfield’s Excavation Swan Hill Show 2024.

We thank Whitfield’s and all our fantastic sponsors who helped to finance this year’s Show. We really appreciate their ongoing support.

I’d like to thank our show committee and sub committees and the hundred or so volunteers that help to put the Show on.

We have lined up some marvellous features for your entertainment, including Walter Whip and the Flames, Comedy Duck Races, Dinkum Dinosaurs, Mountain Bike Trials, Circus Elements, Golden City Pipe Band and of course Southern Cross Fireworks.

Fun and entertainment will be supplied by the Showmen and Entertainers.

Caterers will feed us, the stall holders will display their wares and the exhibitors and competitors will round out the show.

Heaps of dancing and music will take place on the entertainment stage and our regular features such as horses, poultry and caged birds will be on show.

The pavilions will be full of cooking, craft, art, photography, horticulture, floral arrangements and local produce.

For the first time we will be having dairy goats and a miniature horse show.

The very popular Yard Dog Competition starts Friday afternoon and goes into Saturday.

The competition on Saturday will take place on the Tyntynder Oval, creating a lot of interest amongst farmers and town people alike.

And finally, don’t forget the machinery and vehicle exhibits on the Tyntynder Ground.

Please note that our cattle show will take place on Saturday and Sunday August 24 and 25, and the ‘On the Hoof’ Prime Lamb Competition will take place on Sunday, September 15 in the Lamb Pavilion at the Showgrounds.
