EASTER time has come, heralded in by Palm Sunday last week, celebrating Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem.
Good Friday remembers His death on the cross, betrayed by a close follower.
Easter Sunday celebrates Jesus breaking out of the burial tomb and rising to new life, eternal life with God.
Hence the hot cross buns, eggs for new life and sometimes breaking them open against another person’s eggs to recognise new life for us.
Your culture may have extra traditions like dyeing the eggs red.
Next week we will join with the Nyah/Nyah West community for their heritage weekend.
Come along to all the events planned to celebrate long ago and now.
The men’s shed and op shop will be open on the Saturday along with many other activities.
