A MAN wanted in New South Wales after he allegedly assaulted a police officer before fleeing custody earlier this year has been arrested in Robinvale.
Fugitive Squad detectives, with the assistance of the Special Operations Group, arrested the 27-year-old NSW man at a property in Robinvale about 10.30am on Wednesday morning.
His arrest followed an incident on Friday, March 25, where he allegedly assaulted a female sergeant while in custody at Griffith Police Station, before fleeing in a waiting vehicle.
Detectives from NSW Strike Force Cobra arrived in Mildura on Wednesday to apply for his extradition.
