Police analyse clothing clue

INVESTIGATORS are trying to establish if more clothing found in Wycheproof belongs to missing South Australian woman Colleen South.

Ms South has been missing for more than a month after her car was found abandoned in the Mallee town on July 3.

Victoria Police Superintendent Rebecca Olsen told The Guardian a drone was deployed on Wednesday in an area that was previously searched.

“This was due to some additional clothing that had been located, but still yet to be determined if connected to Colleen South,” Supt Olsen said.

“This area had been searched on a number of occasions previously.”

Supt Olsen said local detectives and uniformed members were still working closely with South Australian detectives.

“(They) are speaking daily and continue to follow all avenues of enquiry available.”

It comes as Ms South’s family look to hire a private investigator to help find her, with a GoFundMe page started by a family friend to help fund it.

“We are starting to get really anxious with the search because it has been a month now and we’ve had no answers, and it is just getting overwhelming for all of us,” Ms South’s daughter, Veronica, told The Guardian last week.

“We are just exhausted and drained because there is no answers, no evidence after all this searching.”

Police have received reports of potential sightings, but all have been discounted.

“We have to keep an open mind in relation to all aspects of this investigation,” Supt Olsen said.

“There is nothing to suggest a second or third party involvement in Colleen’s disappearance, and we have no reason to consider her disappearance suspicious.”

Ms South is about 154cm tall, of solid build, and has brown hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a black-and-white striped shirt with blue jeans.
