A MAN has been remanded in custody after allegedly stealing a vehicle from a Vinifera property.
Police said two men entered a shed on White Road on Wednesday last week and stole a white utility.
The ute was said to have been towed away from the scene by a second offender, who was still on the run, in a Holden Commodore.
A witness called the owner and police before the offender was found a short time later in Nyah West.
He was arrested and remanded in custody at Swan Hill.
Shoplifters caught
TWO women were accused of shoplifting from a Robinvale supermarket.
Police said the pair concealed items in their bags and clothing from the Latje Road supermarket on Monday last week.
Their activities were observed by CCTV before the women were asked to present their bags as they exited the store.
Police were called after they refused.
They were expected to be interviewed.
Fence damaged
AN agitated neighbour was said to have caused more than $500 in damage to fencing at a Swan Hill property.
Police said the woman became agitated and kicked the boundary fence at the Gray Street address.
Numerous palings of the fence were damaged.
Television missing
A NEW television was allegedly stolen from outside a Swan Hill home last month.
Police said the victim instructed a parcel delivery service not to leave it at the address unless they were home to receive it.
The victim received an email with a photo attached, saying the item was left at the front door.
They returned home the following day to find the parcel missing.
Police said they were combing street and private CCTV.
Hoon off the roads
A SOUTH Australian man has been taken off the roads for 12 months after being caught speeding on a wet road last week.
The driver was caught travelling 149km/h in a 100km/h zone on the Mallee Highway.
Police said: “Driving faster doesn’t make your motion sick child feel any less sick … with your kids and partner in the car (this) isn’t really acceptable.
“Hopefully the $925 fine and 12-month suspension of licence will change driver behaviour for this South Australian male, or at the very least, keep other road users safe.”
String of offences
A MAN has been charged with a string of offences after allegedly stealing from motor vehicles and homes in Swan Hill.
Police said he was alleged to have committed multiple thefts from unlocked vehicles, some time between 8pm and midnight on March 30.
He was also alleged to have committed multiple burglaries, all in the Donnington and Burton streets and Coronation Avenue areas.
The 23-year-old was arrested by police in the front yard of a home.
He was charged with 22 offences, including drug offences.
More than 80 items of property were located.
He was remanded in custody.
Stolen vehicle in petrol drive off
A VEHICLE stolen from Swan Hill was allegedly involved in a petrol drive-off near Melbourne.
Offenders gained entry to a Holden Clubsport parked in a car yard off Pritchard Street, Swan Hill, about 1.30am on March 27.
It was believed that the vehicle was involved in a petrol drive-off close to Melbourne later that afternoon.
Cruel theft
HEARTLESS thieves allegedly gained unlawful access to two fire stations.
An unknown person attempted to gain entry to the Natya CFA shed, some time between March 26 and April 1.
Unknown persons also forced entry to the Annuello CFA shed and stole a vacuum cleaner and fuel card, some time between March 27 and 31, police said.
