Senior constable charged after collision

A SENIOR constable from north-west Victoria has been charged following an internal investigation into a crash in Warburton last year.

The 35-year-old male officer was charged with failure to stop at the scene of the collision, failure to render assistance, failure to exchange details, careless driving and failure to give way at a stop sign.

The charges follow a two-car collision that occurred in Warburton on August 28.

The driver of the second car received minor injuries.

The male officer was off duty at the time and has been summonsed to appear at a magistrates’ court at a later date.

The Victoria Police Media unit was unable to disclose which station the officer is assigned to.
