Camera operator abused

A MOBILE speed-camera operator was left shaken after a passing motorist yelled abuse and banged on the car window on August 23.

A female motorist stopped her car and approached the operator’s vehicle on Murray Valley Highway at Lake Boga, yelling and swearing at the operator and aggressively banging on the window of the car.

“This was quite destressing for the camera operator, who was too afraid to get out of the vehicle,” a police spokesperson said.

The driver was expected to be interviewed by police over assault and interference offences.


Fake licence

AN illegal immigrant has been charged after producing a fake licence after being caught speeding in Nyah West on August 27.

He produced a probationary licence that appeared fake, before showing a learner permit in his own name.

He was charged with using a false documents and released.

Further inquiries found the driver was in Australia illegally and and the Department of Home Affairs was notified.


Car sale scam

POLICE have warned people to be cautious with online sales after an alleged vehicle scam.

A 68-year-old victim responded to a Facebook notice offering a car for sale.

Discussions took place by mobile phone, which led to the victim depositing $1000 into a bank account.

Police said later phone calls were not returned and the other party was now uncontactable.


Alcohol taken

FOUR bottles of alcohol were stolen from the Ultima Hotel on August 19.

Two offenders forced the bar door about 4.30am and stole the alcohol from the bar shelf.
