Warrant served before fatality

NSW Police had served a notice on a man later involved in a collision that claimed two lives at Kyalite last Thursday.

Emergency services were called to Stony Crossing Road, near Yanga Way, about 11.20am on January 25.

They found a utility and a small truck had collided head-on.

NSW Ambulance paramedics were unable to revive the drivers and sole occupants of both vehicles.

A crime scene was established.

NSW Police said officers from Barrier Police District had earlier conducted a search warrant at a house in Goodnight and served a notice on a man.

Police believe that man was one of the drivers involved in the crash.

“A critical incident team from Riverina Police District will now investigate all circumstances surrounding the crash,” police said in a statement.

“The investigation will be subject to an independent review, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”

Police were contacted for an update.
