A FIREARM was stolen from a vehicle parked at a campsite in Wemen on February 23.
The owner had gone for an early morning walk and returned to find the car door open and contents strewn over the ground.
He noticed that his .410 gauge shotgun and ammunition had been stolen.
Police said the owner would be interviewed over incorrect firearm storage.
Worker struck
A SHOPPER struck a Swan Hill supermarket worker on the face after she became agitated, police say.
The offender was at the checkout area when she began swearing at staff about 6.40pm on February 23.
She was asked to leave the store before police were called.
The offender became further agitated and struck the female worker to the right cheek.
Another worker stepped in and escorted the offender from the building.
Police interviewed the woman and handed her a banning notice that forbids her returning to the store.
“It is simply unacceptable for a shopper to behave like this against a store employee,” a police spokesperson said.
Hot tea thrown
A WOMAN will face court after throwing a cup of hot tea at a community services worker. The offender asked for assistance at the Swan Hill service about 1.20pm on February 20.
While drinking tea that was offered to her, she became agitated and threw it at the worker.
The offender then grabbed a glass bottle from the desk and threw it at the worker, narrowly missing her head.
She left the building and was arrested by police a short time later.
Vehicle missing
A MAN has paid the price for leaving his car unlocked and keys inside his Tower Avenue, Tower Hill address.
The victim heard his car starting and the sound of a second car about 5am on February 24.
He got out of bed and ran outside, where he saw his blue Mitsubishi heading down the road, being followed by what appeared to be a Magna sedan.
The vehicle was yet to be found.
Charged up
POLICE say a man will be arrested soon after allegedly stealing batteries from a Swan Hill hardware store.
The male offender selected two 36-amp batteries from the Beveridge Street store about 11.45am on February 24.
He removed them from their packaging and placed them down his pants before leaving without paying.
Police said they had images of the offender and vehicle details.
Bike taken
A MOUNTAIN bike was stolen from the rear of a Swan Hill business this week.
The victim had chained his black Zenith bike to a post at the Campbell Street business sometime on February 23 or 24.
CCTV revealed a male in a high-visibility vest riding the bicycle.
Damaged wall
POLICE are investigating extensive damage to a brick wall at Nyah Recreation Reserve.
Part of the wall was destroyed by pulling down bricks at a disused stable sometime between February 16 and 19.
