Homicide and arson squads investigate Domaille Crescent fire

A MAN has been found dead following a house fire in Domaille Crescent home in Swan Hill on Wednesday.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious, and a man police believe was at the property at the time has been taken into custody.

Emergency services including 25 firefighters responded to the scene at around 5.40pm, where they found the house alight.

Four CFA units from Swan Hill and Lake Boga attended, with Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and a representative from the relevant power company.

The incident was deemed under control at 6.05pm and safe at 6.52pm, when the CFA handed the scene to Victoria Police.

Police discovered the deceased man’s body while searching the home.

Homicide and arson squad detectives will return to investigate the scene this morning.
