SWAN Hill police are preparing for a busy Labour Day long weekend and caution road users to be patient and take their time.
Acting Inspector Brian Hansen said officers would be undertaking necessary preparations for the Esoteric Festival at Donald on Friday while waiting for the Buloke Shire Council to vote on whether to grant the festival a permit last night.
“There’s a lot of activities on whether the Esoteric Festival goes ahead, with the long weekend and the Food and Wine Festival in Swan Hill,” he said.
“The police department is going to be present across the events and doing road policing throughout the region, so we will be very busy.
“People have got to take their time getting from point A to point B.
“It’s the first real long weekend since the holiday break so people are keen to get away, and they need to do some proper planning and make sure they get where they’re going and get home safely.”
