Soccer Clubrooms get kick along

THE Swan Hill Soccer League will soon have a new home at the Ken Harrison Reserve, with works now underway for their brand new clubrooms.

The project, which is expected to be completed by June next year, will be built solely by local contractors, with Condely Construction overseeing the project.

The new facility will feature four change rooms, as well as two match official rooms, social rooms, kitchen and both shower and public toilet facilities, as well as having DDA compliant wheel chair access.

$1.25 million has been put aside for the project, with contributions from both the Building Better Regions Round 4 Funding and from Sport and Recreation Victoria – World Game Fund.

Speaking with The Guardian last week, Swan Hill Soccer League president Sue Fox was ecstatic that construction was now underway.

“The Swan Hill Soccer League is happy to be finally progressing with our long-awaited clubrooms – it’s great to be working with Condely Construction, a local builder that employs local contractors,” Fox said.

“On our behalf, I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone that has and will contribute to this massive project and we look forward to the finished product.

“It’s something (the new clubrooms) that our club has been trying to achieve for a long time and we hope that this will be the start of big things for not just our club, but for the sport in the Swan Hill region.”
