Swans face top challenge against Deniliquin Wanderers

THE Swan Hill men’s team will look to remain undefeated when they host Deniliquin Wanderers at Ken Harrison Reserve in round 3 of Division 2 BASL soccer.

Swan Hill have started the season in great fashion, with a 9-0 drubbing of the Moama-Echuca Border Raiders in their opening game, followed by a competitive 1-1 draw with Shepparton Jaguars last weekend.

This weekend will be their first real test, with the Wanderers having won their first two matches and sitting on top of the Division 2 ladder.

The under 16s will also be in action on Saturday, with Swan Hill travelling to Epsom Huntly Reserve to take on Spring Gully White. Swan Hill will be full of confidence following their impressive 3-2 victory over Castlemaine Goldfields Gold last weekend.

Cal Croskery was the hero, scoring the first two goals for Swan Hill, before Iliya Zadah finished the job with his 51st-minute goal.
