Swans, Wanderers face off in League Cup

SWAN Hill SC Men’s team will face off against the Deniliquin Wanderers for the second time in a week, when they meet at the Ken Harrison Reserve this Saturday afternoon at 4pm.

Swan Hill won an often-spiteful game 6-4 against the Wanderers last Sunday and will be hoping to repeat the dose when the teams meet again tomorrow, this time in the BASL Division 2 League Cup competition.

Both teams find themselves tied on six points each at the top of the ladder, following wins against the Shepparton Jaguars and Moama-Echuca Border Raiders, with the Wanderers sitting on top with a superior goal difference.

Conner Brown and Cooper Fox have been the mainstays in attack for the Swans, with Brown coming in for some heavy treatment from his Deniliquin opponents last week, with the striker expecting more of the same tomorrow as the Wanderers defenders’ attempt to curb his and Fox’s ability to find the back of the net.

After enjoying the week off with the bye, the Swan Hill SC Women’s team will be back in action on Sunday, when they host Kyneton District SC at the Ken Harrison Reserve on Sunday, while the Under 16 Boys team have the bye.
