Run towards finals for Swans

BOTH the men’s and women’s Swan Hill Soccer Club teams will be in action at Howley Oval in Tatura on Sunday as the Bendigo Amateur Soccer League season begins it’s run towards the finals.

The men’s team will take on the Shepparton Jaguars on the back of their Division 2 League Cup premiership last weekend, with the Swans looking to extend their unbeaten run to 15 games.

It will be far from an easy game, however, with the Jaguars having taken it right up to Swan Hill a fortnight ago at the Ken Harrison Reserve, with the Swans lucky to get away with a 2-1 victory.

While the men will play at the same time, it will be the women’s team that will take centre stage on the main pitch, with their second last game of the season against Tatura.

After enjoying the weekend off last Saturday, the women’s team will be desperate to continue their good form of recent weeks and finish their season off with a win.

Also in action this weekend will be the Under 16 boy’s team, who will take on the Moama-Echuca Border Raiders on tomorrow morning at Moama. The boy’s team currently find themselves on top of the Under 16B ladder and look likely to also feature in their first finals series since the competition’s inception this season.
