Homecoming Swans

THE Swan Hill Soccer Club are in for a big weekend, with all four BASL representative teams scheduled to play at the Ken Harrison Reserve.

Action kicks off tomorrow, with the under-14 girls team to face Castlemaine Goldfields Gold in the side’s first ever home game.

The game will get under way at 11.30am and will be followed by the under-16 boys at 1pm, in a top of the table clash also against Castlemaine Goldfields Gold.

Both teams enter the match undefeated across the opening six rounds of the season.

Sunday will provide another double-header, with the Swan Hill women’s team looking to back up their first win since 2019 with their second on the trot, when they host the top-of-the-table Kyneton Rangers at 12pm.

The weekend will conclude with the men’s side hosting La Trobe University Red at the Ken Harrison Reserve from 2pm.

With just one point separating Swan Hill (second) and La Trobe (fourth) on the ladder, a win for both teams is effectively a must in order to stay in the race for the premiership, with Golden City SC having skipped away to a five-point lead on top of the table.
