Flyers hoping to extinguish Heat

THE Swan Hill Flyers will be looking to end their season on a high when they travel to Mildura to play the Heat on Sunday afternoon.

The Lady Flyers will kick off proceedings at 12 noon, before the men’s team takes to the court at 2pm.

While the Lady Flyers finals hopes ended long ago, the men’s team were still a mathematical – albeit unlikely – chance to make the post-season playoffs.

Not only do the Flyers need to beat Mildura, they also need to win by a considerable margin to improve their percentage.

They will then be relying on other results to go their way in order to leapfrog their way into the top four – with the Castlemaine Cannons needing to beat the Bacchus Marsh Lions, and the even more unlikely scenario of the fourth placed Macedon Ranges losing to the winless Kyneton Tigers.
