DOGS NEW COACH

Tyntynder have found their new coach, with Josh Stone set to take the reigns at the kennel next season.

Stone will take over as head coach of the Dogs from Justin Ellis; and will be hoping to lead Tyntynder to the finals for the first time since 2013, having just missed out on a spot in the top five before the finals were cancelled earlier this year.

Having been Woorinen co-coach along with Marcus Demaria in the Tigers premiership year of 2019, as well as being captain this season; Stone will bring not only experience to the role, but also some high-end talent to Tyntynder’s midfield.

Not only is he a dual premiership player with Woorinen, Stone is also a Best & Fairest winner with the Tigers in 2018 and also Ultima in 2017 as well as winning the VCFL Medal for best on ground in the 2019 CMFNL Grand Final.

DANIELS REIGNS SUPREME

Corey Daniels capped off a strong first season as Nyah-Nyah West United Senior Coach by willing his first club senior Best & Fairest last Thursday evening.

2021 was Daniels first full season in charge of the Demons, with the added responsibility of leading his home club clearly agreeing with him, taking home his first Pat Phelan Medal with 75 votes.

Brady Davidson, who transferred to NNW United from Harcourt in the pre-season, finished runner-up on 61 votes.

Jake Wilkinson came third in his first season in red and blue on 45 votes, while Zac Threadgold was three votes back in fourth.

Blake Larkings rounded out the Seniors top five on 30 votes.

The NNW United Reserves Best & Fairest was won by Timothy O’Brien, with club stalwart Ash Thompson runner-up; while the Colts Best & Fairest went right down to the wire, with Jackson Hopkins and Oliver Boulton joint winners on 82 votes each.

The Demons A Grade Netball Best & Fairest was won by Teina Lusty, with the midcourter polling 15 votes, with Madison Jones finishing as runner-up on 13 votes.

TIGERS TRAIN FILLING UP

Macorna’s re-signing spree continued last week, with another three Tigers recommitting ahead of next season.

Tyler Hird, Jordan Hutton and this year’s captain Jacob McIntosh have all confirmed they will be back in the yellow and black in 2022, with Macorna’s playing list starting to take ominous shape.

The trio of re-signed Tigers join Daniel Green and Grady Smith in recommitting for next season, as well as recruits Malcolm Neiwand and Lachlan Ritchie.
