GRFNL Personality of the year

Nullawil Football Club’s Glenn Hogan has won the Golden Rivers Football League’s Les Pay Identity of the year award for 2021.

Glenn played all of his football with the Nullawil Football Club, starting his Reserves career in 1974 at the ripe old age of 16.

Glenn played his first Senior game on the 31st of May, 1975 when he was just 17 years of age and played his final game of football in 1994.

Glenn played a total of 76 club games for the mighty Maroons.

Glenn also played in two Under 16 Premiership sides in 1972 and 1973. He first joined the Nullawil Football Club Committee in 1993 and is still a current Committee Member today.

Glenn held the title of Junior Vice President from 1994 to 1996 and again between 2012 and 2016; and also held the role of Senior Vice President in 1997 between 2001 and again in 2005 and 2006.

On top of that, Glenn was Club President in 2007 and 2008 and Secretary in 2002 and 2003.

Glenn has been our Club Treasurer for the past 4 years – from 2018 until 2021.

In short, there isn’t an executive role within our club that Glenn hasn’t held, which is a phenomenal achievement in itself and shows his large skill set alone.

In taking on the job of Treasurer, he became only the third person to have held the roles of President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Nullawil Football Club.

Glenn was awarded the Best Clubman award in 2009 and received a Life Membership of the Nullawil Football Club in 2018.

Glenn has been the Curator of the Recreation Reserve for too many years to recall and continues to mark the ground prior to every home game and ensures the ground is in great condition for match day and has been a part of the Nullawil Football Club Goods & Services Auction sub-committee for many years as well.

He was also a football selector between 2003 and 2006 and again in 2011.

In addition to everything Glenn has been involved with at Club level, it is very important that we mention his involvement with the Golden Rivers Football Netball League Board.

This shows Glenn’s dedication to the sport within the GRFNL, ensuring its longevity at a time when they were finding it extremely difficult to have volunteers join the Board.

The Nullawil Football Club are extremely proud to have Glenn as a part of our club and have thanked him his endless contributions not only in the past, but still to this day. This special award acknowledges Glenn’s extensive work for the club and league.
