HELMAN BEST FOR KANGAS

Joel Helman was rewarded for another sensational season, winning the Cohuna Kangas Seniors Best & Fairest over the weekend.

Helman polled 43 votes across the Kangas ten matches, with Assistant Coach Tom Toma finishing as Runner-Up on 32.

Jackson Williams was a further seven votes behind Toma in third, while Jack Donat and Tyson Findlay rounded out the top five on 19 and 13 votes respectively.

Marcus Rogers took home the Kangas Reserves Best & Fairest with 26 votes, with Shaun McIvor and Oscar McGraw joint Runner’s-Up on 19; while the Colts Best & Fairest was won by Tynan Dove, with Jude Palmer Runner-Up.

The Cohuna A-Grade Netball Best & Fairest went right down to the wire, and in the end, Amy Mathers and Danni Sawyer couldn’t be split, with both polling 11 votes and sharing the award.

YELLOW AND BLACK’S BEST

Having already taken home the LJ Hooker Player of the Year, Jye Barry’s 2021 season reached even greater heights on the weekend after being crowned the Butler Medalist as Woorinen’s Seniors Best & Fairest.

Barry dominated out of the midfield all season for the Tigers.

This was reflected in the vote counting, with Barry polling 123 votes; 30 clear of Runner-Up Arnold Kirby on 93.

Josh Stone finished third on 61 votes in what will be his final season in the yellow and black having taken on the roll of Tyntynder coach, while Doug Beames on 58 votes and Doug Palmer on 51 rounded out the top five.

Tim Gammon was awarded the McKerrow Medal as the Reserves Best & Fairest, while Matt Gardner capped off a sensational season by winning the Tigers Colts Best & Fairest.

Tessa Demaria was a very deserving winner of Woorinen’s A-Grade Netball Best & Fairest, while Jamiee Beasy took home the Tigers A Reserve Best & Fairest award.

SETON-STEWART’S SENSATIONAL SEASON

In a weekend popular for Best & Fairest counts, Ultima crowned their club champion on Sunday afternoon.

After another dominant season in the midfield, Mitch Seton-Stewart was awarded the Roo’s Best & Fairest player for 2021, polling 68 votes to finish 24 votes clear of joint Runner’s-Up Kyle Symons and Josh Dwyer.

Tom Bull had another strong season in the blue and white, finishing fourth with 28 votes, while the Golden Rivers FNL Rookie of the Year Darcy Farrell finished off his first senior season in style, polling 20 votes to finish fifth.

Despite playing only four games in the Reserves for the season, Luke O’Toole was awarded joint Best & Fairest in the Reserves, along with youngster Brayden Cooper on 31 votes each, while Jack Miller won the Roo’s Under 17.5’s Best & Fairest.

In the netball, Louisa Frost was declared the A-Grade Best & Fairest, with Tess Denham Runner-Up in her first season for Ultima; while Megan Bull took out the B Grade award.
