ANOTHER WIN FOR CURNOW

KERANG spearhead Bryce Curnow has added to his trophy collection from this season, taking out the Blues Senior’s Best & Fairest award on Wednesday evening.

Curnow earlier this year won his first Jack Betts Medal, as well as the League Leading Goalkicker award in his first season at Kerang.

Michael Dalrymple capped off a fantastic season in defence for the Blues, finishing as Runner-Up in the award with 29 votes, while midfielder-forward Sam Heavyside, also in his first year at the club, finished third with 28.

Josh Hann was just one vote behind Heavyside in fourth with 27 votes, while Marty Kelly and Jesse Clark tied for fifth with 26 votes.

The Kerang Reserves Best & Fairest was a closer affair, with Harry Saunders taking home the award by just one vote from Cody Tuohey, while in the Colts B&F it was Tyson Clingan with 52 votes who won from Jonah McKnight and Sean Hunter, who both tied for second with 44 votes.

In the netball, Emma Peacock took home the A Grade Best & Fairest after polling 13 votes, to win by just two votes, with Sophie Peacock Runner-Up on 11 votes.

Meanwhile, the Kerang Women’s Football Team Best & Fairest count was also held on Wednesday night, with Sophie Peacock showing she can not only dominate on the netball court, but also with the Sherrin, as she took home the Women’s Best & Fairest with 75 votes, from Jemma Meehan who finished as Runner-Up on 57 votes.

FERGUSON ROARS FOR LIONS

HAY veteran Jackson Ferguson capped off another sensational season by winning his club’s Senior’s Best & Fairest, the George Blondinau Memorial Trophy last Saturday evening.

Ferguson, who played a majority of the season in defence, took out the award ahead of Runner-Up Angus McSweyn.

In the Reserves Best & Fairest, the O.J. Smith Memorial Trophy was won by Bill Auldist, with Jack Perrignon finishing as Runner-Up, while Joey O’Keefe won the Under 17.5’s Best & Fairest ahead of Jack Headon.

The Lions A Grade Netball Best & Fairest was won by Elle Jamieson, with Hannah Stewart finishing as Runner-Up.

RAIDERS LOCK AWAY TWO MORE

KOONDROOK-BARHAM have continued their re-signing spree, recently announcing two of their key local players have put pen to paper for 2022.

The spring heeled Kye Attwell and reliable defender Jaryd Wishart have both recommitted to the Raiders for next season, as they look to rebound after this year’s disappointing season.

Attwell and Wishart’s re-signing comes hot on the heels of the announcement of Aaron Collins as the new head coach of Koondrook-Barham and the re-signing of Kal Huntly and Jake Dick-O’Flaherty.
