Undefeated Tigers to face Cats

THE Woorinen Youth Girls will be out to keep their unbeaten start to season 2022 in tact when they face Strathfieldsaye at Tannery Lane on Sunday.

The Tigers will head into the match full of confidence following their dominant 72-point win over the previously unbeaten White Hills last weekend – with Woorinen piling on eleven unanswered goals to end the game.

Sophie McClelland was the standout on the day, dominating at centre half forward, while Jenna Bannam in the midfield, along with Sunny Barry, Brydi Lewis and Amy Van Liessum were the other better players for the Tigers.

Meanwhile the Central Victoria FL Girls Under 14 competition reaches its penultimate home-and-away round this weekend, with all six teams to meet at Birchip on Sunday – starting with the home team Birchip-Watchem doing battle against the Warra Blues at 9.30am.

That game will be followed by Swan Hill and Woorinen at 10.40am, with the winner set to give their Grand Final chances a massive boost – before the undefeated Tyntynder face off against the Sea Lake-Nandaly Tigers to round out the day’s play.
