The Tigers face White Hills at Tannery Lane on Sunday.
The Tigers will go into the preliminary final full of confidence on the back of their 46-point elimination final win over Golden Square a fortnight ago, with the winner to take on Strathfieldsaye in the grand final next Sunday.
Woorinen coach Jason Murphy told The Guardian his team were looking forward to the challenge ahead of them on the back of a strong performance in the first semi-final.
“A real focus of ours has been our frontal pressure and the girls’ ability to take away the opposition’s time to make a decision,” Murphy said.
“So to see the girls execute this skill in the final against Golden Square was really exciting.
“The challenge now for the girls is to bring that same level of heat this weekend against White Hills.”
After close losses by just one point and 10 points to White Hills throughout the season, the Tigers will be confident of turning the tables in the knockout final on the back of the midfield pressure from Carlee Hazlett and Kobe Davison and a forward line packed full of talented goalkickers, including Issy Boulton and Sam Johnston.
“It’s hard to not look at what’s ahead of this game, but we have been process driven all season and the focus is well and truly on the challenge this weekend,” Murphy said.
“It’s incredibly exciting to be part of the rise of girls’ football in our region and the support for our team has been quite overwhelming. We are the battlers from the Mallee going down to Bendigo to make some noise.”
