Matthew Filo out for four matches

LAKE Boga’s Matthew Filo has been handed a four-match suspension, after being charged with intentionally or carelessly engaging in rough conduct against an opponent during the Magpies’ 21-point first semi-final loss to Woorinen earlier this month.

Filo was reported following an incident in the first quarter on the semi-final, in which it was alleged he made forceful contact with the head of Woorinen’s Taylor Cameron. The incident was reviewed by the match review panel, with the incident graded as intentional conduct, severe impact and high contact. Filo was referred directly to the independent tribunal.

Filo pleaded guilty to carelessly engaging in rough conduct against an opponent and was handed a four-match suspension, with an extra two matches applied as a suspended sentence.
