NNW UNITED v TOOLEYBUC-MANANGATANG
AFTER starting the season full of hope, both Nyah-Nyah West United and Tooleybuc-Manangatang’s finals chances will go on the line when they meet at the Nyah Recreation Reserve.
Both teams have just one victory from the opening four rounds, making a win on Saturday a must to stay in touch with the top five.
It’s an all too familiar story for the Demons, who are once again being savaged by injuries, with Corey Daniels, Jaydyn Stirling and Brady Davidson among NNW United’s key players unavailable.
The good news is reinforcements are close, with Jarrod Stokes, Hassan Ahmat-Watkins and Ben Shadbolt all set to return for the Demons.
Another likely inclusion is Alex Erlandson, expected to return from a calf strain providing he can get through training unscathed.
The Saints will also have a different look, with Rory Alexander expected to return to boost key position stocks.
While both teams match up relatively evenly through the middle, the biggest area of concern for the Demons will be on defence, especially after they struggled to contain both Michael Hurley and Zach Mihocek last Saturday.
Their task won’t get any easier, with Josh Williams awaiting them on Saturday, but the Demons are always tough to beat on their home ground – and that might be just the advantage they need.
Tip – NNW United to win by two points.
