Season on the line

COHUNA KANGAS v TOOLEYBUC-MANANGATANG

THE Cohuna Kangas’ season will be on the line when they host Tooleybuc-Manangatang in what could be the final Central Murray league match played on the Cohuna Recreation Reserve.

With the Kangas looking to move to the Heathcote District league next season, tomorrow could well be the end of an era – and the end of finals hopes if the Saints can cause an upset.

Cohuna’s 12-point loss to Swan Hill last weekend left them needing to win both remaining games and have other results go their way to sneak into the top five.

While it’s fair to say their season hasn’t gone to plan, the Kangas should have little trouble in overcoming Tooleybuc-Manangatang, who have also been disappointing so far this season.

Ethan Goldfinch has been a shining light for the Saints however, along with Blake Grant, Connor Mcdonald and Josh Williams, with the Kangas needing to keep a close eye on the quartet.

Tooleybuc-Manangatang will need to find a way to stop Joel Helman, who has had another terrific season, along with curbing the Kangas’ run off half-back through the likes of Will Thrum, Daniel Paterson and Tom Metherell.

Tip – Cohuna Kangas to win by 20 points.
