Macorna player gets 10 matches

MACORNA will be without senior footballer Joshua Walters for more than two months after the forward was handed a 10-match ban for engaging in rough conduct.

The incident occurred in the third quarter of Macorna’s round 5 match against Ultima, with an independent tribunal handing down the verdict last week.

It was alleged that Walters, who was coming onto the field from the interchange, made prohibited contact with Ultima player Kyle Symons as he was coming off the pitch.

Symons was left unconscious after the incident.

The game was halted by umpires until Symons was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Macorna’s Johnny Dawes received a one-match suspension for engaging in rough conduct in the same game.

Teammate Chris Wilson received a reprimand for striking after entering an early guilty plea. Wilson received the same outcome for using abusive, insulting or threatening language with an early guilty plea.
