NYAH Nyah West United took home the coveted seniors CMFNL premiership cup on Saturday, surprising the crowd with the convincing victory.

While NNWU fans turned out in droves, the impressive start by the Demons surprised many, and by the fourth quarter, supporters from all teams cheered the side to victory.
Kerang fans were disappointed as the Blues, who had lost only one game and drawn another throughout the season, failed to make an impact on the scoreboard and headed into the third term goalless.
Despite the 49-point lead, NNWU fans were not game to start celebrations, given Kerang’s ability to come home strong.
By the final break Kerang had recovered slightly on the scoreboard, but Demons’ supporters were beginning to sense victory.

The Demons dug deep to keep control of the scoreboard and fans were elated at the final siren when the Demons took home their third premiership in the club’s history.
The Demons had not seen grand-final success since they went back-to-back in 2000 and 2001.
Ethan Curran was awarded best on ground for his efforts on the wing.
On the netball court, it was Lake Boga’s day in the A-grade competition.
They took home the chocolates in a comfortable 12-goal victory over Swan Hill.
Best-on-court honours were awarded to Sophie Peacock.
