Tigers return to den
JOSE and Elijah Miliado will return home to Woorinen next season, with the Tigers announcing their signatures via their social media platforms this week.
The brothers will return to their junior club having spent the past two seasons with Central Murray rival Swan Hill.
A two-time premiership midfielder/forward, Jose will pull on the yellow and black for the first time since the club’s 2019 triumph having spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons with Macleod.
The Miliados won’t be the only new faces next season for Woorinen, with Tyntynder wingman Lachie Martin also confirmed to be joining the club next season.
Martin leaves the Bulldogs after one season, having crossed over into the Central Murray from Golden Rivers club Moulamein last year.
Lloyd bounces to top Roo
BALRANALD midfielder Kobe Lloyd has capped off a career best season in blue and white by claiming his first seniors best and fairest for the Roos at the club’s presentation day recently.
Lloyd finished ahead of defender Jaxon Neagle, with Drew Lloyd finishing a close third to the pair.
The trio were among Balranald’s most consistent players this season as the Roos again qualified in the finals, before being eliminated by NNW United in the first semi-final.
Ben Jones added his reserves club best and fairest award to his CMFNL best and fairest victory earlier this month, with Tim Marsh finishing as runner up, while Tyrone Wickey claimed Balranald’s colts best and fairest from Bob Helgeland.
Grace Morton emulated the feats of sister Hannah by winning the Roos A grade netball best and fairest ahead of goaler Ella Mirtschin, while Bec Harvey followed up her A reserves league best and fairest by winning Balranald’s club award ahead of fellow shooter Macy Lloyd and Jordyn Jolliffe.
The Roos other best and fairests went to Nicole Kayne in the B grade and Lani Wilkinson in the B reserves.
George best at kennel
ROY George has been crowned top dog at Tyntynder, completing a dominant 2024 season by winning the Bulldogs seniors best and fairest recently.
George beat home ruckman Matthew Gillbee to win the award, despite playing just 12 games for the season in red, white and blue after also plying his trade with the Casey Demons in the VFL.
The reserves best and fairest was won by Cas Mitchell, with Bevan Taylor finishing as runner up, with the Colts award going to Dylan Durbidge, with Callan Jager close behind.
Tyntynder A grade coach Kelsey Rowe capped off a fine first season in charge by winning the A grade best and fairest ahead of defender Bridgette King, with Kimberley Calvert winning the A reserves netball best and fairest from Tamara Weiss.
Tahni Smith was rewarded with the Bulldogs B grade best and fairest, finishing ahead of Paige Dempster, while Nichola Pye claimed victory in the B reserves award, with Georgia Jones finishing as runner up.
