Edwards, Smith too strong

WHICH B grade team would remain undefeated and stay top of the Sharp Fruit ladder?

The question was answered on Monday night, with Swan Hill District Driver Ed having Kevin Edwards in the driver’s seat and newcomer Scott Smith riding shot gun as they proved too strong for Swan Hill Windscreens, with Kevin Burge and Tarin Tants being best for the vanquished, losing 8/3.

Things were heating up for Pizza Kitchen as they thrashed a depleted Syd Wilson Auto Electrics 12/1, with Norm Campbell and Roberta Spicer winning all their matches, while Bazil Spicer tried hard for the losing team.

Chaz Tallboys educated his PDF Accounting teammates on how to play and they were rewarded with a 7/4 win, while GMG Accounting’s Neil Caffery again won two of his three matches, but it wasn’t enough.

Advanced Packaging defeated a heart broken Murray Valley Technology Centre 6/5, with Tony Tom had two good wins for the winners, while the steady Shane Threadgold continued his good run of form, also winning two matches.

Bakker and Glen remain unbeaten on top of the Beck Legal A grade ladder after thrashing a disappointing Pooles Accounting 7/4.

Paul Johnson lives in Max Carroll’s head, again smashing the president off the court in five tough sets, while Hannes Diedricks had his first win, defeating Ben Mangiameli.

Kunat Thunder made a lot of noise after upsetting Swan Hill Homes and Sheds 6/5, with Mario and Jason Mangiameli having important wins for the victors.

John Threadgold won his three singles matches, but choked in the doubles, which ultimately cost his team the match.

In the final match of the night, R&J Joinery had a surprise 7/4 win over a shell-shocked Morpeth Farms, with Damien Mangiameli the hero for the winners after claiming victory in all of his singles matches.

Glen Evans battled hard, but had no answers for Mangiameli’s clever spin and attacking forehand.
