Table Tennis Notes

THERE were two undefeated teams on top of the Sharp Fruit B grade ladder prior to Monday night – but now there is only one after Pizza Kitchen thumped Swan Hill District Drivers Ed 7/4.

Norm Campbell, Roberta Spicer and Sam Collidge all won two matches, with Kevin Edwards again winning three matches, but Scott Smith’s honeymoon period is now officially over.

GMG Accounting had all the major assets with Joe Pino Snr. doing what he does best by winning all three singles and two doubles.

Murray Valley Technology Centre were lucky they had Joanne Stevenson in career best form, otherwise their 7/4 loss could have been much greater.

Syd Wilson Auto Electrics tinkered with a few things and powered to a convincing 9/2 win over an undermanned Swan Hill Chemicals.

Ben Comitti won many points with his forehand drive, with the only win Darren Stevenson had was when he won a coin toss.

Advanced Packaging had the Williams twins, Neil and Gayle in great form as they dominated Swan Hill Windscreens 8/3.

There are a few cracks in the Windscreens game, but Tarin Tants could hold his head up high.

No doubles spells trouble and so it was in the Beck Legal A grade section.

John Threadgold bounced back from his two-game suspension to lead Swan Hill Homes and Sheds to a thrilling 6/5 victory, winning both doubles matches in five tight sets.

R&J Joinery’s brother and sister combination of Joe Pino and Natalie Whateley won their share of singles, but just couldn’t get over the line.

Bakker and Glen are about to engrave the premiership cup as they have the best one-two punch in the competition, with Jovenar Ocampo and Ben Mangiameli causing heart ache and pain whenever they approach the table.

Brett Armstrong no longer has his 100 percent winning record, although he battled hard for Violi Finance in their 4/7 loss.

In a heated match, Morpeth Farms defeated a fired up Pooles Accounting 7/4, with Glen Evans not wielding a bat, but using a magic wand, with Aaron Threadgold slowly returning to form. Michael Shean was the best for Pooles.
